Tuesday Tips #274 – Find Your Feature

If getting featured in a gallery, magazine, or niche blog has been one of your goals as of late, we’re setting aside this month’s tips to check that one of your list. Getting featured has everything to do with the right selection of curated work and timing so while it may not happen overnight, keep on keeping on and your time will come. To start things off, and this may be obvious for some, keep your social media accounts active with work you are proud of. Follow the accounts of galleries and showcasers that you would like to work with and taking note of their open houses and calls for submissions. Connecting on social media is a great beginning but can be an even better one when you make a great first personal impression when at all possible.

“It’s hard to say exactly what it is about face-to-face contact that makes deals happen, but whatever it is, it hasn’t yet been duplicated by technology.”
-Paul Graham
