Impressions of Childhood with Megann Robinson

Capturing childhood memories in a compelling and artistic way using light, connections and creative editing

Have you ever been watching your children play together at a beautiful location and couldn’t quite capture the whole experience through your lens? Or maybe its just an everyday walk to the park that you would like to capture in a more meaningful and artistic way? Come join me in this three week interactive course and discover ways to turn everyday moments into art that you and your family will be able to look back on. During these three weeks I will cover everything from the steps I take before I start shooting, to behind the scenes footage from a variety of different shoots describing what I am doing and looking for, to my post processing workflow in Photoshop. We will start with more basic editing and build up to more complex edits. I will cover how I add and shape light in photos, add mood and dimension and how to seamlessly composite multiple images together into one. I will also be providing a detailed video edit of one of each active participant’s photos. You will receive detailed pdfs  with lots of before/after examples and multiple editing videos every week.  During these three weeks I will also be hosting three live webinars where all participants can ask questions. There will be a private Facebook group available to all participants and will continue after the course.

Please note that students are required to shoot with a A DSLR camera, have the ability to shoot in manual mode and have Photoshop.

The workshop was one of the best learning experiences! I have taken many courses via Clickinmoms, a couple of in person courses with photographers I respect and look up to, and this is one of the best courses I have taken! Meg is not only a great photographer, but a great teacher. The pdf is great and I loved seeing Meg edit her images. Yes, it is awesome if you can get the perfect shot in camera. However, this is not always the case particularly for people like me that love photography as a hobby and want to be able to capture glimpses of our children's everyday life. It is refreshing to finally have someone show you how to polish images, images that although not perfect I adore and cherish for the memories of my little ones. Megann's critiques are very useful and she responds very quickly to questions. My only recommendation would be that it would be nice to be able to see the assignment submitted by other classmates and the critiques as well as they are always useful tools.
