Tuesday Tips #290 – The Secrets of Panning

When you consider the slow shutter speed, panning while taking your shot can take a great deal of time. To ensure your subject is in focus and the movement from your pan is as smooth as possible, keep your own movements as a minimal as possible from start to finish. This means you need to press your shutter as gently as possible and also release your shutter as gently as possible. Any movement from you and your shutter, even the smallest, will be interpreted through your image. Keeping cool, calm and collected will have big pay offs in your panning image!

“When everything is moving and shifting, the only way to counteract chaos is stillness. When things feel extraordinary, strive for ordinary. When the surface is wavy, dive deeper for quieter waters.”
