Session Spotlight Wendy VonSosen

Aloha friends! If you weren’t one of the many following along on Instagram during Wendy VonSosen‘s latest vacation to Hawaii, have we got a tropical treat for you this morning. We can hardly contain our excitement over the adventurous story she captured, all framed by the cool blue refreshing water of paradise.

Beware, you’re bound to catch a case of the wanderlust! Here are the details from Wendy:

Maui has always been one of my favorite places to visit. I went there as a kid with my family, took my husband for the first time right after we were married, and have been taking my own kids ever since. Aside from the beach and the jungle, and the grilled mahi mahi, one of my favorite things to do there is shoot in the water. Just before the sun comes over the mountain in the morning, we walk from our place to Blackrock and slip into the calm glassy water usually before anyone else. It’s just as the sun peeks through the clouds hovering around the top of the mountain that I can capture the sun’s rays at the water line of my lens. The effects of the ocean, the sun flare, and the light rays piercing through the water is always magical to me when I finally cull through my images. Shooting underwater has its challenges but the final images far outweigh them.

Gear: Nikon D800, Nikon 14-24mm, SPL underwater housing, snorkel, mask, fins
