Tuesday Tips #240 The Personal Project

We aren’t ones to fast forward onto the next move without enjoying the present but with a new year comes the beginnings of new projects and if you’re in that camp hoping to start up something in 2017, you’re going to need to do some planning ahead. If you ask us, personal projects aren’t just for fun, they are a necessity to drawing out the creativity of an artist and driving them and their vision forward.

Now is the time to sit down with a pen and paper and brainstorm. Consider your personal goals and where your enthusiasm comes from when you photograph. Without hesitation, lay out any and all interests that comes to mind — dark, light, shapes, your family, nature, city exploration, or maybe still life. Seeing your points of interest visually will help you pull together a cohesive idea that will light your fire all the year through!

“When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something.”
– Steve Jobs
