Tuesday Tips #253 : Taking on the Taxes

Look, don’t recoil in disgust here. We’re in this together and we’re putting on our big kid pants this year. Lets get ahead of the stress and anxiety and climb this mess of a mountain that comes with every tax season. Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to finances, so follow along all March for the tips you need to come out on top this tax season!

First up and possibly the hardest thing to do is to block out an entire day, or two half days if you have to, to organize all of your receipts, mileage calculations and expenses that will be required for your most accurate tax return. Not having your details together can have some real negative consequences when it comes down to filing your taxes so put on a podcast or two and get down to work.

To stay on top of 2017, many photographers choose to use programs like Quick Books or the like to track their costs and expenditures every month or so so that there is no end of the year scramble at filing time.
