Tuesday Tips #263 : Moving Into Microstock
It goes without saying that it is essential to use the correct ISO, shutter speed and aperture settings in your photos, but especially in your stock photos. Since the individuals and companies looking to purchase photos will likely scrutinize the photos they search out, looking for technically correct photos that are in focus with little to no noise, it is smart for you to do the same before your submissions. Zoom in on your photo at at least 100% to clean up any lens dust or other distractions in your photo that may cause a client to bypass your image.
To ensure your stock photos stand the test of time, keep your edits clean. While using some creative liberties can create attractive photos that are stock worthy, be mindful of the multitude of clients you are shooting for. Like Don says, “Make it simple, but significant.”
“Always put your best foot forward, because you never know where your next step may lead you.”
