Tuesday Tips #270 – Embrace the Summer
As you would during shooting in cold weather, it is of the utmost importance that you also protect your camera, film and gear from the hot weather elements as well. One of the major problems facing photographers in extremely hot weather is condensation on and in lenses. When at all possible, limit changing your lenses in hot humid weather. If you are in a pinch and must swap lenses, you best bet is to move indoors into a cool, dry room and allow your gear to cool down over a few minutes and then swap your lenses as needed. Taking these precautions will prevent the moisture from getting into your camera body and possibly creating costly repairs.
