Tuesday Tips #326 – Aceing the Flat Lay
You may have never tried your hand at flat lays but this style of photo is good to have in your back pocket if you ever need them for your own personal marketing pieces or maybe even for clients yet to come your way. Used frequently on Instagram, they can also be great candidates to create to earn extra income as stock photographs.
When considering items to add in and leave out in your flat lay, first have a story or theme in your head. This will help point you to your purpose and what items make sense to include and what is just extra fluff, which may actually complicate your photograph and confuse your viewer. With your theme or story in mind, and including only items that aid in telling your story, your flat lay will come across more genuine and bona fide!
